How is Mind Connections Tutoring, LLC structured compared to learning centers?
Our tutors come directly to you. No travel needed! Our dedicated and qualified tutors will design a program that is based on the school's curriculum, not a pre-determined program that may not relate at all to what your child is working on in school.

Will Mind Connections Tutoring, LLC supply learning materials for the sessions?
We highly recommend that your child bring home their books or materials they are working on in their class that relate to the subject(s) we are working on. It is useful tool to review mistakes on graded papers. Tutors may themselves provide supplemental instructional materials that complement your child’s curriculum. We do not provide a curriculum. We will help you attain materials from your child's school, if necessary, or direct you to several resources where you can purchase the appropriate books, etc.

What if my child doesn't like the tutor?
If, after the first session is complete, you do not think the tutor is a good match with your child, you will not be charged for the session and another tutor will be contacted.

Are there a minimum number of sessions for which I have to commit and how long is each session?
No. We do strongly suggest a minimum of four sessions in order to really see progress. The minimum amount of time for each session is one hour.

Do your tutors work with learning disabled or special needs children?
Yes. Many of our tutors have experience working with students who have special needs. We will be able to work in conjunction with your child’s I.E.P. or 504 Plan.

I home school my child. Can you help me?

Yes. If your child is being home schooled we can provide support for the curriculum you are using. If you are considering home schooling your child (children) we can also assist you with curriculums that will best meet the needs of your learner(s).

I have more than one child. Can you tutor all of them at the same time?
All of our tutoring is one-on-one. In order for our tutors to be most effective, and for your children to benefit the most from our services, we do not do group tutoring in a home setting. During the in-home consultation, our Director will work out the most cost-effective solution.

My child is an average student that needs challenges. Can you help?
Definitely! Challenges and motivation are a major component of learning in today’s world. Because everyone learns at a different rate and in various ways, it is imperative that we continually challenge students, while showing them the fun and love of learning.

Will the tutors be able to motivate my child to learn?

Private tutoring improves confidence and in turn motivation. The easier things become the more children want to learn. Our tutors believe that motivation and self-confidence play a major role in the success of students.

How often does my child require tutoring?
The answer to this question depends on how quickly you would like your child to catch up. We normally recommend a minimum of two hours a week for each subject being tutored. Anything less than two hours has proven to be ineffective. If a student is a full grade level behind we recommend 3 to 5 hours of tutoring a week.

How long does my child require tutoring?
Duration of tutoring services is largely dependent upon the strengths, weaknesses, and needs of each student. Some students are farther behind than others and this will affect the amount of tutoring needed. Our goal is for students to work effectively on their own as soon as possible. We depend upon referrals from satisfied clients to grow our business - not repetitive tutoring with a single student.

How will I pay for tutoring?
You will receive a bill monthly from Mind Connections Tutoring and Educational Service, LLC. You may use whatever payment method is most convenient for you. (Credit Card or Check)

How do you ensure quality tutors?
All of our tutors are professionals. Each individual is required to demonstrate a proficiency in the subject(s) areas that they will be tutoring. They are familiar with the local and state education standards which give them the ability to understand what students are facing in everyday classrooms. We compensate tutors better than most tutoring agencies to ensure that we have the best talent available. Many of our tutors are teachers, substitute teachers, retired teachers, or college students preparing for a career in education. Some professionals who work in a specific area (accountant-math) may be tutors in their specialized areas. We check all references, complete background checks and personally interview every tutor.

How do you screen tutors?
We carefully screen each and every tutor applicant. Application information is then validated and references are confirmed. Background checks are completed on every individual. We also ensure that each and every tutor has a friendly and patient disposition.

What if I want tutoring somewhere other than my home?
We will meet you or your child where learning is most comfortable. While the home is the most common venue for tutoring, a school, local library, or community center are typical alternatives. We do require a parent/legal guardian over the age of 21 to be available during all tutoring sessions. Our goal is to have your entire learning experience be convenient and fun. We will always work around your busy schedule.
